Applying to the Graduate Certificate Program in Program Evaluation

For information about the characteristics of desirable applicants, please see the overview section. Students may apply for the Graduate Certificate Program in Program Evaluation (GCPPE):

  • along with their application an advanced degree program (i.e., M.A., 6th Year, or Ph.D.)
  • upon acceptance into an advanced degree program
  • as a non-degree student interested in gaining additional knowledge in program evaluation

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, however preference will be given to students who enroll by April 1st (in time for Fall admission).


To Apply:

For students currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at the University of Connecticut

  1. Complete an application to the Graduate School
    If you would like to submit an online application (preferred), please call the Graduate School to obtain a fee waiver code.
    There is no charge to currently enrolled graduate students for application to graduate certificate programs.
  2. Submit the following materials, in one completed packet, to the Graduate School:
    • Personal statement explaining why you have decided to pursue a graduate certificate in program evaluation (500–700 words)
    • Minimum of two letters from references who can speak to your experience and potential

For non-degree students or students not currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at the University of Connecticut

  1. Review the admission requirements for the Graduate School
  2. Complete an application to the Graduate School.
  3. Submit the following materials, in one completed packet, to the Graduate School:
    • Official transcripts of all collegiate work completed to date
    • Connecticut Residence Affidavit
    • TOEFL or IELTS scores (international students)
    • Resume of not more than two pages
    • Personal statement explaining why you have decided to pursue a graduate certificate in program evaluation (500–700 words)
    • Minimum of two letters from references who can speak to your experience and potential
