Master’s Program Structure

Students enrolled in the master’s program will be expected to complete at least 30 credits.

Course requirements

10 courses (minimum), including six required courses.

Elective courses

Students must also complete twelve or more additional credits of approved electives and/or independent study, which could be in RMME or in an area of application. Choices of electives are made with the approval of the candidate’s advisor.

Thesis/examination requirements

Successful completion of a research project or thesis or successful completion of a comprehensive master’s exam is required. The student’s advisory committee may recommend oral defense of the exam/thesis.

Plan of Study

To be filled out by the candidate with the guidance of his/her advisor and approval of his/her committee. Copies are to be placed in both Department and Graduate School files.
